Clinical Competency and Guardianship Evaluation
Competency and Guardianship can be one of the most difficult decisions that many family members face. TILL’S Clinical Competency and Guardianship Evaluation Team offers the necessary resources and support to guide families through this process.
Senior level clinicians, with expertise in the field of developmental disabilities, have the specialized experience necessary to appropriately assess decision making by individuals with cognitive differences, understanding differing levels of ability, and always adhere to the commitment of "least restrictive environment."
What is Needed to Determine Competency?
A formal evaluation is needed to determine if a person is capable of making his or her own decisions or is in need of additional supports such as guardianship and/or conservatorship.
Evaluations are typically done in our Dedham clinic but offsite arrangements can be made if necessary.
